The City of Early continues to move towards a uniform look for their Commercial District as seventeen new stop signs were installed today. The stop signs offer an aesthetic design that enhance the overall look of the area along Early Blvd. between Lucas Drive and the Pecan Bayou.
“These decorative signs will be incorporated into the new Town Center, so this is a way for us to start bringing uniformity to the entire area.” said Assistant City Administrator Larry McConn.
The poles for the stop signs are fluted and power coated black with a decorative base and an acorn finale on top. The stop and street signs themselves are outlined in black and the City’s logo is positioned to the left of the street names in what’s called the “logo-flag.”
“We are excited to introduce a new brand to what is ordinarily a mundane traffic control device. These poles and signs will become more numerous as we continue replacing signs around town.” said Larry McConn.
As the Town Center project progresses, upgrades will be made to other areas of town simultaneously. Along with street upgrades, new sidewalks, park upgrades and more, the city will also receive these new custom signs.
“This will help show our business owners that we are aware of their needs and that we are willing to improve their locations as well; no matter what we have going on elsewhere.” said Larry McConn.
The majority of signs were completed today November 22nd and the rest will be completed by the in the coming days. Below is a list of each new sign:
