The City of Early is excited to participate with Brown County and the cities of Bangs, Blanket, and Brownwood in a joint public meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, to gather public input for updating their Hazard Mitigation Plan.
A hazard mitigation plan is a community's guide to reducing the potential impact of natural and man-made hazards. It outlines strategies and actions to minimize vulnerability to these hazards and ensure the community's safety and resilience.
The public meeting aims to present an overview of the project by the Emergency Managers of Brown County, the City of Bangs, the City of Blanket, the City of Brownwood, and the City of Early. Public input will aid the project team in analyzing potential hazards affecting residents and suggesting actions to mitigate their impact. During the meeting, officials will discuss hazards, including thunderstorm wind, tornado, winter storm, hail, flood, drought, wildfire, extreme heat, and lightning.
City Administrator Tony Aaron invites the public to participate in the survey. He encourages citizens to attend the public meeting at 10 a.m. at the Brownwood Depot and Cultural Center,600 E. Depot Street, Brownwood, Texas,76801.
A public participation survey is available on the City of Early's website or by clicking this link: Brown County Hazard Mitigation Survey
The deadline to complete the Public Survey is October 1, 2024.
